“IT IS LETHAL!”

“For the wages of sin is [lethal] death, but the gift of God is eternal life inb Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 6:23  NIV   Read:  Romans 6:19-23   We often take risk.   Sometimes it is for the adrenaline rush…skydiving, cliff diving, racing, skin diving or another activity that pushes the envelope just a bit.  Other times our daily risk can include driving too fast, using a chair instead of a ladder or even exposing ourselves to too much sun without the use of sunscreen.  Any of these things could result in our injury or even death.   Our parents made efforts to protect us.   They told us not to play in the street, take candy from strangers, run with scissors and other sage words of advice.   Knowing right from wrong came from our parents.   They, most likely, also told us about Jesus at an early age.   Others came into our lives as we grew.   Sunday school teachers, school teachers, coaches, uncles and aunts, grandparents and others also had a hand in teaching us not to take risks.   While activities in our lives can be lethal, the biggest risk we can take is not a physical risk at all.  The biggest risk we can take is lethal; permanently for all eternity.   Turning away from GOD by not accepting JESUS is the most lethal risk.   JESUS came into this world to take on all your sins, forgive all your mistakes and promise you eternity in Heaven with HIM.  You have a choice.   Enjoy eternity with GOD or die a lethal death and spend eternity...

“A KODAK MOMENT?”

“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”  Psalm 126:3 NIV   Read:   Psalm 126:1-6   A few decades ago Kodak Company developed an advertising slogan; ‘A Kodak moment!”   It was very successful and is still remembered by millions…and it helped sell a lot of cameras and film. We still have those moments we want to capture forever.  There are births, graduations, birthdays, weddings, picnics, Christmas gatherings and more we want to capture with a photo.   There are also those ‘Kleenex moments’. Those times when the doctor tells us of a serious medical problem, the passing of a loved one, divorce or another depressing life changing event.   The memories of these things can be haunting enough without photos to remind us of these times. Life sometimes takes us in hours or days from a ‘Kodak moment’ to a ‘Kleenex moment’ when we least expect it.   We may not know of the when, but GOD does. Staying prepared for life’s ‘Kodak’ or ‘Kleenex’ moments is simply staying in prayer.  Your prayer time with OUR FATHER will help prepare you for the wonderful joys and the disappoints and tragedies of this world. Whether you are communicating with GOD in a daily prayer time or that quick prayer while waiting for a red light to change, GOD hears you.   Know that GOD is smiling with you during those ‘Kodak moments and HE sheds a tear of compassion and support during those ‘Kleenex moments’ as well. Today’s prayer:  “LORD GOD, Thank YOU for always being with me.  Thank YOU for the moments of joy...

“WHO ARE YOU REALLY?”

“The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”  Proverbs 11:3 NIV   Read:  Proverbs 11:1-8 The newspaper headlined boldly announced a man’s conviction from several crimes while the TV reporter gave a detailed account of the conviction from the halls of the courthouse.  Past business associates were interviewed along with his family members as well as the victims and their families. Does this sound all too familiar?  How does a man infiltrate our society in order to take advantage and harm so many people?   Depending upon whom you ask, he was either a very evil con man or as some called, a victim himself.   It reminds me of the old adage; “Image is what you want others to view you as, while integrity is who you actually are.” Do you create an image that you are a good person or does your integrity tell others that you really are a good person?  You can only be one or the other. A local repair company owner professes to be a strong Christian, yet his company’s trucks are often seen at a beer and burger establishment famous for its very scantily clad young women for their ‘business’ meetings.   I wonder if he feels this unwholesome site establishes his integrity? Are you walking your talk?   Are you known as a person of image or one of integrity?   You and GOD know the truth of who you really are.  Are you wearing the full armor of GOD?   Wearing the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, your feet fitted with readiness, protected by...
