“…known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.” 2 Corinthians 6:9-10 NIV
Read: 2 Corinthians 6:1-10
Paul and the other apostles along with the members of the early church put their lives in danger daily. Around the world there are Christians being shot, beheaded and tortured because of their faith. Do you think about them? Do you pray for them?
There was a phrase coined by Thomas Paine in 1776 of being a ‘sunshine patriot’. He was referring to those who ‘would shrink from the service of his country’. Paine was a solid motivator of the colonist in the war against Great Britain.
In today’s society, are you a ‘Sunshine Christian’? It is easy to say you are a Christian, but as our brothers and sisters around the globe who are proclaiming their faith as they are being shot and hanged, would you be as firm in your faith?
JESUS died on the cross of salvation for you. Would you die for HIM?
In this time of liberal society proclaiming the rights of abortion, same sex marriages, open living arrangements, legalism of drugs and more, where do you stand? Are you proclaiming these rights, sitting back and allowing all these things to happen or are you standing up for the commandments of GOD?
Too few bother to stand up for JESUS today. Are you a ‘Sunshine Christian’ shrinking from the service of our LORD? You can go to church and warm a pew without being a Christian…
Today’s prayer: “JESUS, MY SAVIOUR, Thank YOU for dying so that I might live. I want to be a more dedicated Christian. Help me to be a dynamic voice for YOU today.
