DO YOU PRAY?

DO YOU FEEL THE COMFORT OF A CONVERSATION WITH GOD? PRAYERS ARE OUR LIFEBLOOD. IN THE OLD TESTAMENT WE READ OF THOSE FAITHFUL TO GOD AND THEIR DEVOTED PRAYERS. ABRAHAM PRAYED FOR A SON. MOSES PRAYED FOR HIS PEOPLE AS A ‘FRIEND OF GOD’. DAVID, THROUGH ALL HIS TRIALS AND JOYS PRAYED. THE PROPHETS PRAYED TO THE LORD. IT IS EASY FOR US TO SEE THE PURPOSE AND THE RESULTS OF ALL THEIR PRAYERS SINCE WE HAVE THOUSANDS OF YEARS OF CLARITY TO UNDERSTAND. GOD WILL HEAR YOUR PRAYER JUST AS HE HEARD THEIR PRAYERS.

IN THE NEW TESTAMENT, JESUS PRAYED TO HIS FATHER. JESUS PRAYED ALONE AND WITH OTHERS. JESUS TAUGHT US TO PRAY IN MATTHEW 6:9-13 WITH THE LORD’S PRAYER:

“OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME, YOUR KINGDOM COME,YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD. FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US. AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION , BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL.”

IT IS EASY TO PRAY. IT IS YOUR CONVERSATION WITH GOD. A CONVERSATION REQUIRES AT LEAST TWO…YOU AND GOD. PRAYER IS TO BE CONTINUAL…THROUGH OUT YOUR DAY. PRAY SPECIFICALLY. GOD KNOWS YOUR HEART. THEN LISTEN. DON’T GET GOD ON THE LINE, THEN HANG UP BEFORE YOU HEAR HIS ANSWER. LISTEN FOR GOD’S ANSWER. ‘YES’, ‘NO’ OR ‘WAIT’; ALL WILL BE ANSWERED IN GOD’S PERFECT TIMING.

“DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IN EVERYTHING, BY PRAYER AND PETITION, WITH THANKSGIVING, PRESENT YOUR REQUESTS TO GOD.” PHILIPPIANS 4:6 NIV
